Sarah Welcome, Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator

Retired from the corporate world as a data technology executive, Sarah now gets to spend her free time with cuter and fuzzier friends!  A Mom of 3 adult kids, and a farm girl to the core, Sarah’s love of animals is palpable.  She received her Wildlife Rehab permit early 2025 and now, in addition to llamas, horses, goats, and sheep, she shares her heart, soul, and farm with skunks, opossums, and groundhogs just to name a few!!

Jeanine was part of the R2W OG team. Her professional role as a public health nurse has not only allowed us to introduce wildlife education to seniors across multiple towns, but also engaged folks in caring for them.  Jeanine has spear-headed numerous events and activities resulting in meaningful support in the shape of hand-knitted nests, fleece hammocks, pouches for our orphaned babies, and donated medical supplies.  She has expanded our ‘village’ in such an impactful way.

Kara Lutner, RN

Chris Tarapata, VP Development, Medical Device Sector

Chris Tarapata, VP Development, Medical Device Sector

Kara’s experience as a pediatric RN comes shining through when she cares for the orphaned babies in our clinic.  She earned herself the nickname “Snow”(aka Snow White - not ‘flake’ 😂).  Her gentle spirit and her excellent medical assessment skills are integral to the level of care and comfort we provide at Return2Wild.  She is always willing, and able, to ‘work the problem’ and help figure out a treatment plan for our most challenging cases.

Mara’s dislike of the spotlight belies her real talents handling and caring for wildlife.  As a Customer Service professional in the veterinary world, her ‘therapy’ comes by way of feeding and caring for our orphaned babies.  Her kind heart, gentle spirit, and calm demeanor are just the ‘therapy’ our stressed wildlife need to heal and develop along their road to release.

Liz’s love of wildlife coupled with her medical knowledge and science-mind are a major asset to our team at Return2Wild.  As a Vet-Pathologist, she’s our go-to for all things ‘microscopic’! Not to mention, she has no fear, even of some of our crazier 🤪 squirrels!

She is an avid hiker, skier, and outdoors-person who loves the natural world and wants to care for it.  She embraces the opportunity to get out of the lab for some hands-on care of the cutest babies around!!

Caitlin Doherty, RN

Liz Little, Veterinarian Pathologist

Caitlin not only cares for humans as a Critical Care Nurse, but she finds the time to help our most vulnerable wildlife get their second chance at life.  Her medical knowledge and bedside manner transfers readily in our wildlife rehab clinic.  From medications, to injections, to triage, to compassion …. Cait uses those same talents, just on different species!  She thinks ours are cuter 🦊

Olivia Tran

Olivia Tran

Olivia may be the youngest volunteer on our Animal Care Staff, but she is a true go-getter!  She is currently studying for her degree in biology and conservation with the goal of a career in wildlife.   She is a super quick-study and eager to learn about the many animals that we care for in our clinic. Livy is  beyond organized 🙏 and keeps us all on task so all our babies are fed on time!  We all love her check-boxes and of course her sweet disposition.

Already serving the community as a Police Detective and father of 4, Dale knows what it means to care about our world and what it takes to make it a better place.  As a life long lover of nature, wildlife, and the great outdoors, here at Return2Wild he gets to give back to our community yet again - this time caring for the littlest of lives who have no voice.  Add to that … he has no fear and handles whatever comes his way (snakes anyone 😳 …no, nope, and no way!)

Her support will undoubtedly help us achieve our vision of becoming a nationally recognized center of excellence for wildlife rehabilitation, habitat conservation, and creating wildlife stewardship across generations 😊
